Spore creature - Rainbow agama (female 4) PNG

Also known as the common agama or the red-headed rock agama, the rainbow agama (Agama agama) is a lizard found throughout most of sub-saharan Africa, except for the southern regions and the central African rainforest.

It typically grows 13 - 30 cm long, and feeds mainly on insects. It can often be seen climbing up rocks and house walls.

During the breeding season, the males develop spectacular breeding colours, while the females remain relatively drab. Each male claims and guard a territory, and impresses females by doing "push-ups".
