Spore creature - Kawekaweau PNG

Also known as Delcourt's sticky-toed gecko or Delcourt's giant gecko, the Kawekaweau (Hoplodactylus delcourti) was a species of lizard that was once endemic to New Zealand.

Measuring over 60 cm long, this was the largest known species of gecko on Earth. It has not been seen alive since 1870, and is thought to be extinct.

In Māori tradition, these lizards were somewhat feared (and sort of regarded as spirits or demons), perhaps due to their alarming vocalizations.
