Spore creature - Aegirocassis benmoulai PNG

Native to what is now Morocco, Aegirocassis benmoulai was a species of anomalocarid marine arthropod that lived during the Early Ordovician, around 480 million years ago. Its Latin name means "Ægir's helmet (Ægir, or Njörðr, was the Norse god of the sea), found by Mohamed Ben Moula".

This planktivorous filter-feeder was one of the largest animals of its time, capable of growing more than 2 metres long.
