Spore Building - Sahnioxylon PNG

Description

Sahnioxylon was a genus of tree-like bennettitalean that is thought to have grown at least 15 metres tall. Its fossils have been found in India, China and Antarctica, and it occurs in Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous layers.

Bennettitales were odd, cycad-like plants. They bore unusual, flower-like cones, but were in fact more closely related to cycads, ginkgos and conifers than to true flowering plants.

I like these prehistoric flora creations. Very interesting. And the timescale is impossible to grasp. For example, you say that these grew during Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods - wow!
