Also known as the sacred blue lily, the blue Egyptian water lily (Nymphaea caerulea) is a species of water lily found along the river Nile and other parts of North and East Africa.
The leaves measure 25-40 cm in diameter, with a notch at the leaf stem. When blooming, the flowers open at around 9:00 or 9:30 AM, and close at around 3 PM.
For this reason, the Ancient Egyptians associated this plant with the rising and setting of the sun, and therefore they believed this plant to be connected to sun gods such as Ra and Atum, as well as Nefertem (the god of healing and beauty).
The blue Egyptian water lily has mild psycho-active properties, and also contains the alkaloids nuciferine (a sedative) and aporphine (frequently used in anti-psychotic medication).
Even to this day, the blue Egyptian water lily is popular in teas, wines and martinis. "Blue lotus" tea is prepared by boiling the whole flower for 10-20 minutes).
Spore unfortunately doesn't seem to have many waterlily-like plants, so I decided to make some of my own.

This would make a great prop in an adventure. And, I agree, there have not been too many Spore plant-buildings. But I think I've seen some plant-mushrooms.
